These are a few signs your AC is on the fritz. more No Air From the Ducts If you can hear your AC running, but no air is blowing into the cabin, your ducts could be blocked. Air is drawn into your AC via a vent just underneath your windshield. This air passes into the AC, where the moisture is removed, the air is chilled and then blown into the cabin. Dirt, leaf particles, and other debris can also enter the vent and cause blockages over time. This will reduce or prevent air movement. Another possible cause of the problem is a damaged AC fan. If this happens, unconverted engine chemicals are forced back into the engine. This increases the pressure inside the engine and can cause it to shut down. If the engine doesn't shut down, the chemicals will turn your engine fuel rich. A fuel-rich engine can damage the spark plugs, ignition coils, and other components. We can remove the converter and clean it to clear any blockages. Blown Head Gasket Your engine has numerous seals and gaskets, but the most important is the head gasket. When you hit the brakes, the brake calipers close on either side of each rotor, and the pads do their work of stopping your car. When you take your foot off the brake, the calipers are withdrawn. A pad can remain in contact with a rotor if it's damaged and doesn't withdraw completely. The pad in a damaged caliper may continue to skim across the surface of its rotor. If this occurs for long enough, the affected pad will develop a smooth and shiny surface. This is known as glazing, and it's dangerous, as a glazed pad can't generate friction anymore.
